Tony Hale parents: Meet Mike Hale, Rita Hale

Actor and comedian Anthony Russell Hale was born in the United States on September 30, 1970. He is well-known for playing Buster Bluth in the Fox comedy series Arrested Development.
From 2012 until the show’s finale in 2019, Hale portrayed Gary Walsh on the HBO comedy Veep, for which he received the 2013 and 2015 Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.

In West Point, New York, Hale was born. His father, Mike Hale, taught nuclear and atomic physics and was in the military, while his mother, Rita, worked as a staff assistant to State Representative Kathy Ashe.
Hale spent his formative years in Tallahassee, Florida, where he attended the Young Actors Theatre and took part in a variety of plays and musicals. In 1988, he earned his high school diploma from Leon. In 1992, he earned a journalism degree from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. While attending the institution, he joined the fraternity Sigma Chi. In 1995, he graduated from Regent University’s School of Communication and the Arts in Virginia.
